This article states that the Texas Department of Criminal Justice victim services division will train volunteers to serve as mediators between victims, guardians of victims and close relatives of deceased victims and offenders in cases of bodily injury or death. The victim services division will also provide mediation services if requested by the victim, a victim's guardian or close relative of a deceased victim.
