This rule designates that an appellate court may direct the parties to an action and their attorneys to appear before a court-designated mediator. The rule specifies that attendance at sessions is mandatory, content of the discussion is privileged and confidential, mediation is not binding until the agreement is reduced to writing, and noncompliance may result in sanctions.
