This statute allows the court to refer parties in civil cases to mediation, or parties themselves to elect to mediate their dispute. The statute also instructs the court to maintain a list of qualified mediators for such referrals, and also outlines guidelines for mediator selection, mediation attendance, and mediator duties and powers.
