This statute authorizes chief district court judges to order mediated settlements for a variety of cases, as well as establish rules allowing other district court judges to also order mediations. It reviews the procedures that must be followed for mediated settlements, covering topics such as mediator selection, compensation and immunity, confidentiality of mediated proceedings, and mediator certification.
