According to its website, the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission 'was established in October of 1995, certifies and regulates mediators, recommends policy, rules and rule revisions regarding dispute resolution in North Carolina courts, provides support to court-based mediation programs, certifies mediation training programs, provides information about court-based mediation programs, assists other State agencies with dispute resolution services, publishes a newsletter and maintains a website.' The commission supports various programs, including the Mediated Settlement Conference Program, the Family Financial Settlement Program, the Clerk Mediation Program, the District Criminal Court Mediation Program and the Pre-litigation Farm Nuisance Mediation Program. The website contains information regarding mediator ethics and mediator selection, among other topics.
