This report describes the work of the New York Community Dispute Resolution Centers Program (CDRCP) from April 1, 2003, through March 31, 2004. In 2003-2004, 29,292 mediations, conciliations and arbitrations took place involving 68,808 individuals, with 83 percent of mediated or conciliated cases reaching a voluntary agreement. Approximately 50 percent of referrals came from the courts and from fiscal year 1997-1998 to fiscal year 2003-2004, referrals from the Family Court increased by 14 percent, from 9 to 23 percent, of the total caseload. Finally, Appendix A of this report provides a list of agencies that contract with CDRCP and Appendix B provides statistical tables.
