N.J.S.A. 2A:23A-1 to 30 make up the New Jersey Alternative Procedure for Dispute Resolution Act. This act sets forth New Jersey's provisions for private judging and arbitration. Its many sections address: the types of cases appropriate for either process; selection and role of umpire in private judging and arbitrator in arbitration; discovery; awards and award appeals; compensation; agreement to arbitrate; disclosure by the arbitrator; and immunity.
