These rules apply to owner-occupied residential foreclosure mediation in Nevada. The program is designed so that lenders and homeowners may exchange information in an attempt to avoid foreclosure, and mediations must occur "within 135 days following actual receipt by the Administrator, or designee, of the mediation fee and required documentation provided on behalf of the lender." The program is administered by the Administrative Office of the Courts and mediators are senior judges, Supreme Court settlement conference judges or a Nevada Supreme Court designee. The rules address mediator qualifications and appointment, eligibility for the program and mediation procedures, among other topics. Each party is required to pay half of the mediator's fee, which amounts to $200 each.
