Multi-Option ADR Project Evaluation Report

ADR Staff. Jan. 1, 2018
http://www.sanmateocourt.org/court_divisions/adr/evaluation_reports.php

This document evaluates the Multi-Option ADR Project (M.A.P.) in the Superior Court of San Mateo County, California. M.A.P. was founded in 1996 and now consists of six program areas: civil/probate, family law, small claims, judicial arbitration, juvenile dependency and juvenile delinquency. Researchers gathered data based on case studies from each of the six program areas and analyzed settlement rates, the process used, the type of case, ADR as a factor of settlement and satisfaction with the process, among other factors. Data indicates that, in addition to other program-specific conclusions, satisfaction was high overall and most participants felt that their communication had improved through participating in the M.A.P. process.
