This rule authorizes judicial circuits to undertake mediation programs. Circuits electing to establish mediation program are directed to adopt rules for the conduct of mediation proceedings and to submit them to the Supreme Court. The Rule specifies the matters that should be addressed in the circuits' local rules for their mediation programs and states that a person approved by the circuit to act as a mediator under the rule shall have judicial immunity in the same manner and to the same extent as a judge.
