This book is designed to offer guidance to district, magistrate and bankruptcy judges in determining when and how to refer a case to ADR and how to manage the case once it has been referred. Within this framework it discusses mediation, arbitration, early neutral evaluation, summary jury trial and mini-trial processes. The issues that arise from referral to these processes are also discussed, including selecting and compensating the neutral, confidentiality and participation of the parties.
