District of Columbia Code 16-2821 et seq: Medical Malpractice Mediation

These set of statutes outline the procedure for medicial malpractice mediation. Under these statutes the court shall require parties to mediate in cases where the healthcare provider is accused of medical malpractice. Unless otherwise agreed to by the parties, the cost of mediation shall be equally shared by the parties. The court shall assign the parties to court provided mediation and will provide the parties with a roster of medical malpractice mediators.
