Under this rule, the court may refer a case, with the consent of the parties, to voluntary mediation at any stage of the proceedings. At least one representative of each involved party must participate, and the designated mediator shall be immune from any potential civil liability. The rule provides requirements regarding confidentiality and admissibility of evidence, compensation, and termination of mediation conferences, and outlines procedure for setting forth a mediation agreement. The June 15, 2009 amendment revises the section of the rule governing mediator compensation.
