The Indiana General Assembly authorized the creation of court alternative dispute resolution programs for domestic relations cases in July 2003. Seven counties established programs by January 2004; by the end of the year, a total of 14 counties had programs in place. This report explains the approval process for court programs and provides a brief description of the programs available in 2004. The report also provides statistics on the amount of funding collected for the programs through filing fees, as well as the number and types of cases mediated. It also includes information about the types of ADR processes used and the number of cases involving parties below poverty level that went through the programs.
