This statute (14-10-128.1) states that the court may appoint a parenting coordinator to a parental responsibility dispute at a party motion or agreement or by its own motion. The court may appoint the coordinator if the parents have failed to implement a parenting plan, if mediation is inappropriate or has already failed and if it is in the best interest of the child involved in the dispute. The statute addresses the duties of a parenting coordinator, civil liability and ethical standards.
