The New Mexico Administrative Office of the Courts and the New Mexico Children Youth and Families Department (CYFD) have worked since 2000 to provide mediation services in child abuse and neglect cases. From 2000 to 2005, 1,311 cases were mediated under this initiative. The project was funded by CYFD grants and according to this report was available in six judicial districts in New Mexico in fiscal year 2005. The report discusses project activities in each project site, training opportunities, biographical information about local coordinators, project plans for each district in which a program is located and training agendas. Appendix E of the report is an evaluation of the program, addressing participant satisfaction, agreement levels and program effectiveness.
