California Rules of Court Title 5, Rule 5.83: Family Centered Case Resolution

Judicial Council of California. Jan. 1, 2019
http://www.courts.ca.gov/cms/rules/index.cfm?title=five&linkid=rule5_83

This rule institutes a family centered case resolution process for certain family law cases. The rule discusses procedural milestones and provides guidelines for family centered conferences held by judicial officers. At conferences, unless the matter requires mandatory child custody mediation or mandatory settlement conferences, the court must inform the parties that participation in court recommended ADR services is voluntary and may not be appropriate in domestic violence cases. The court must also ensure that court-connected ADR providers have been trained in assessing and handling domestic violence issues.
