This rule establishes requirements for mediator qualifications in the 9th Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois. According to the rule, mediators must have earned a law, masters or other advanced degree, must have completed a 40-hour training program and must have liability insurance in order to conduct mediation sessions. The rule establishes requirements for continuing mediator education and pro bono cases and addresses the creation of a court-approved list of mediators.
