The Homestead Mediation Program allows borrowers facing foreclosure to opt in to early mediation services. Mediation is available for all residential homestead mortgage foreclosures filed on or after May 1, 2012. According to its website, "the goal of the program is to open communication between the borrower and the lender to determine if the foreclosure can be prevented through a loan modification or other mortgage workout option." The website includes downloadable copies of the administrative order that created the program, as well as all the necessary forms for participating in mediation. The site also includes information for scheduling cases in each county in the circuit.
