Small claims cases in which any party appears pro se at the initial return date are eligible for mediation. Volunteer mediators will be available at the small claims call to mediate cases immediately upon referral by the judge. The rule describes the mediation process and further addresses confidentiality, attendance requirements and sanctions, post-mediation procedures and mediator qualifications.
