Judges may order or parties may request mediation in civil cases with monetary claims over $50,000. Parties may select their own mediator, or the court may appoint one from a court roster of certified mediators. The rule addresses scheduling and conducting mediation session, attendance requirements, confidentiality, mediator qualifications and compensation, and the duties of the trial judge for mediation.
