Kane County Mediation Program Manager
Kevin Malone joined RSI in November 2013 as Kane County Foreclosure Mediation Program Coordinator, based in Geneva, Illinois. He worked to implement and now administers the Kane County Mandatory Foreclosure Mediation Program, which launched on January 1, 2014. He then led the development of the Kane County Child Protection Mediation Program, which launched in February 2017.
Kevin received his M.A. in Conflict Resolution from the Joseph Korbel School of International Relations at the University of Denver in 2013. While in graduate school, he volunteered with Jefferson County Mediation Services and Denver Court Mediation Services as a small claims mediator. He also served as the director of operations for the Conflict Resolution Graduate Student Association and the founder and director of the Conflict Resolution Professional Resources Organization.
After graduation, Kevin worked for Singleton Strategies LLC as a program associate, where he addressed barriers to achieving successful natural resource management between local and federal agencies. He aided in the initial meetings that led to the successful inclusion of the Green-Duwamish River in the Urban Waters Federal Partnership.
Kevin was first introduced to ADR and conflict resolution while serving in the southern African Kingdom of Lesotho with the Peace Corps. He experienced firsthand how collaborative processes and ADR can address community needs while working as a community health and economic development volunteer in the Maluti Mountains.
As a native of northern Illinois, Kevin is especially excited to be part of the RSI team working to expand mediation and other conflict resolution practices in Kane County.
